How to Get Rid of Gingivitis

Abstract: There are many ways to get rid of gingivitis. Thorough flossing and brushing can prevent gingivitis. Besides, studies have shown that brushing can prevent gingivitis among adults and children.

The following are some measures recommended by Ismile shanghai dental that you can take to expel gingivitis:

1. Brush teeth at least twice daily. You should use A soft-bristled toothbrush, not a hard one. And you should avoid horizontal brushing, because it can bring about systemic bacteremia. And avoid too-frequent brushing or too-hard scrubbing. There is a risk of abrasion and gum recession. The use of electric toothbrushes that rotate at 4200 times/min removes significantly more plaque than manual toothbrushes. In cases in which manual dexterity is lacking, electric toothbrushes are recommended. If manual tooth brushing is clearing sufficient plaque, there is no need for the expense of an electric toothbrush.

And also notice that toothbrushes should be replaced monthly to avoid harboring bacteria. Furthermore, toothpaste that contains fluoride should be used to deter decay and promote re-mineralization of the enamel.

2. Floss daily. In adults, the combination of twice-daily tooth brushing and daily flossing leads to a 67% decrease in gum bleeding; twice-daily tooth brushing alone results in a 35% reduction. In children, tooth brushing alone appears to be sufficient for prevention or reduction of gum symptoms; however, flossing can be done to initiate the habit and further the skill.

Floss should be inserted gently between teeth and down to the gum line, and then rubbed over the contours of each of the two teeth before clearing. The back outside edge of the teeth at the back must be included in this regimen

3. An antiseptic mouthwash should be applied daily after flossing.

4. You should have regular dental examinations. If necessary, scaling should be suggested. The frequency of scaling should be determined by the dentist and is based on individual factors (e.g., oral hygiene status, current state of periodontal health, severity of gingivitis)

5. If the disease develops into periodontitis, periodontal deep cleaning or periodontal surgery may be necessary. This requires opening up the gums to get at the contaminated area. Infected tissue is cleared, and the root of the endangered tooth is scaled (the tartar is frayed out). Sometimes this can be finished without actually cutting the gum (periodontal deep cleaning). Really serious disease might even require bone grafts. Acute herpetic gingivostomatitis can't be treated, but it goes away by itself after about two weeks. Pregnancy tumors can be disposed of by a dentist. Acute necrotizing ulcerative gingivitis (ANUG) can be cured with proper antibiotics and comprehensive tooth and gum cleaning by a dental expert. Early treatment by your dentist is advised.

The last but not the least, the prevention is of utmost importance. Loose teeth bone will easily lead to gingivitis, so you can eat more foods containing calcium to strengthen teeth. Keep clean teeth in daily life, and do not eat spicy and hot food Drink more water, instead of beverages during the hot weather.
